Sensor
The NiKON D780 contains a 24.5 MP back-illuminated full-frame CMOS sensor combined with an EXPEED 6 image processor, offering wide dynamic range and stunning performance. The same CMOS sensor features the Nikon D850but with a resolution almost double that, 45.7 MPX. A back-illuminated sensor (BSI) that makes much better use of light, is more efficient and performs better over its entire surface.
Body
The remarkable sealing of the D780 The weatherproof, rugged magnesium alloy body ensures that this camera is ready for any location and any situation. The deep grip and long battery life make all the difference in prolonged shooting.
The D850 also has a sealed body and gives us great security when working in nature, splash-proof and dust-proof.
Approach
The full-frame D780 features a fast, dedicated hybrid AF system for Live View shooting, as well as a fast and reliable phase detection AF system for viewfinder shooting. In Live View, the high-precision AF system provides 273 AF points on the sensor and eye detection AF.
The powerful focusing system is a guarantee for this type of photography. In addition, tracking AF is improved with the D850. Therefore, the D850 performs very well with action and sports scenes where accurate focusing is required with moving subjects. In addition, we can combine it with the powerful burst shooting of 7 fps, which can be increased to 9 fps if we use a grip.
Battery
The Nikon D750 has a longer battery life, holding 2260 shots, while the D850 only holds approximately 1840 shots.
Video
The D780 uses the resolution of the 6K image sensor to produce ultra-high resolution 4K/UHD footage at 30p/25p/24p with zero crop factor. You can record full-definition slow motion footage on camera at speeds up to 120p with audio. It is very well equipped in this respect, the D850 also features 4K quality at 30p. In addition, it has several customizable options, including a super slow motion mode that provides good overall results. The use of the tilting and touch screen helps to record more comfortably. Not forgetting, again, that its weight is remarkable. But the fact of having the possibility of storage on XQD cards is appreciated for videographers who bet on it, although there are more complete specific options, this Nikon solves well in video recording.
Opinion
Both cameras are good, depending on your goals with photography and video recording you will be interested in one or the other. The price difference is not very large, with the Nikon D850 being slightly higher than the Nikon D750, as its image resolution and frame rate per second are of better quality. However, when it comes to video recording, both are very good. It is true that both bodies are ready to work in any situation and place, but the D850 is heavier. And THE d750 also stands out for its battery life, which has more performance than Nikon’s other companion.
