Sony a6100 Construction and Ergonomics
With respect to the construction of the camera we follow the same line of the entry-level series of the a6000 range, which has as its standard the elimination of professional controls or buttons, in order to have a much smaller body than that of its competition. Now we have a screen that is able to put itself in selfie mode, but that limits a little the placement of the external microphone in case you want to use it. Ergonomics is perhaps the weakest point of the whole series, except for the top ones. In this case the small size of the body makes it difficult to reach the camera with ease, although it must be said in its defense that most competitors who bet on the same size always have the same ergonomic problems.
Focus of the Sony a6100
If the focus of the a6000 was already quite good, the focus of this a6100 surpasses it by far, including the technology that we already have in the entire series and in the Sony a7iii, a camera known for having one of the best focuses on the market. Face and eye tracking are impeccable and we can be very confident of their reliability. Its 425 focus points are distributed over almost the entire screen, only missing some on the sides, making it practically impossible to remain without focus at any time.
Quality and performance of the Sony a6100
As we have known for years, the Sony sensor, specifically this 24mpx sensor, always tends to exaggerate the green colors a bit. But otherwise the sharpness and brightness of the image are more than adequate. The performance of the Sony a6100, has improved a lot thanks to sharing the processor of her older sisters the Bionz X, a processor that as we say allows to have a fluidity when collecting data and using its artificial intelligence that is beyond the reach of other competitors.
Sony a6100 video
If there is one thing this camera excels at, it is video, especially when compared to older models. In this case Sony has bet because all its line regardless of price has 4k and this one in particular along with its sister the Sony a6400 focus them to the video vlog sector. On the downside, we could highlight the absence of 4k video recording at 60p and the non-inclusion of a color profile system for our videos, which prevents us from picking up more shadows and being able to add color in postproduction in a more optimal way.

Tucamara.net's opinion
The Sony a6100 is a great camera, which has improved in only two sections: video and focus. Even so, it is a more than safe purchase, although it is a bit more expensive than the older versions. For the 800€ it costs, perhaps we can consider other brands more specific to video, which offer more tools to the creator, but certainly can not come close to the quality of focus that this one has. Overall a great camera, albeit a bit pricey.
